Florent Obesse, CEO and Co-Founder

Florent Obesse has an extensive background as a management consultant in mobile applications development, telecommunications, database software development and digital content.
Prior to founding Canya Communication AB, Mr Obesse has held several software development positions at Siemens and at Celltribe AB, a Stockholm based telecom Software Company. He has also held an Asia Pacific market director position at Synergenix Interactive AB (Spin off from Ericsson). He was in charge of building Esmertec AG mobile carriers activities in Asia Pacific before switching to fully manage their mobile operators business unit in Africa. For many years, He´s had been a leading figure in the launching and managing African business of Myriad Group, European leading provider of mobile software and telecommunications solutions.
Mr Obesse holds a Master of Science in Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) of Stockholm, Sweden and a B.Sc. in Engineering from China´s well acclaimed Tshingua University of Beijing. Mr Obesse also holds a diploma in economics and business management from the University of Stockholm Sweden. He´s fluent in French, Swedish, English, Chinese Mandarin and Lingala.

Christina Bokouka, Financial Director and Co-Founder

Prior to joining Canya Communication AB as a co-founder , Mrs Bokouka was financial Controller at Scribona AB, a leading distributor of IT and communication products in Scandinavia.
Mrs Bokouka has held several financial positions at Stockholm Vatten AB, Toshiba Digital Media, Sharp Electronics Sweden, Chinese Consulting Ltd and Sara Hotel in Beijing China. Mrs Bokouka brings to Canya more than 16 years of financial management and consulting.
Mrs Bokouka holds a Master of Science in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Stockholm. She is fluent in Swedish, English, French, Mandarin Chinese and proficient in Russian.

Kevin E Bunka, Managing Partner

Mr. Bunka comes to Canya Communication AB with management experience and consulting know how in telecommunications and IT sectors throughout the Asia Pacific region, Europe and North America.
Following a start in business-to-business market research, Mr. Bunka held senior management positions in Asia at Hutchison Telecommunications International and at MCI (now Verizon Business). With this experience, he has developed strong insights into the broader telecommunications industry with a focus on client solutions, business-to-business models, key vertical segments, as well as industry trends and directions.
Mr. Bunka has opened new markets to support client networks throughout the Asia Pacific region. He has specific experience in sales, marketing and contract negotiation and has closed major agreements in China, Hong Kong, India, Vietnam, Korea, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. He is experienced in developing business with major players in the worldwide IT industry.
He holds a Political Science Degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Bruno Bensaid, Partner

In Asia since 1997, Bruno started his Asian career in the finance team of Cisco Systems in Asia-Pacific (based in Singapore) then launched and managed the China operations of French, UK and Japanese internet and mobile VC-backed companies from 2002 till 2006 (based in Shanghai). In 2006, Bruno founded the Shanghai Chapter of MobileMonday (a non-profit mobile industry trade association) and started advising VC/PE funds as well as small and large enterprises in investment strategies in China. He became the first China employee of Ventech (a French VC overseeing more than USD 500 Mil in assets) in 2007-2008. In 2008, he created Shanghaivest, an investment bank advisory firm advising large Chinese clients on overseas expansion. Shanghaivest also advises Chinese companies in their fundraising and divestment efforts, mainly in the technology sector.
Bruno is also an investor in several Chinese start-ups and an active member of Angelvest, a renowned Shanghai-based angel organization. Finally, Bruno is a regular speaker and moderator at international conferences covering diverse topics from mobile, internet to M&A, Investment and cross-border transactions.

Stewart Bower, Non Executive director

Stewart has over 17 years experience in the media, telecommunications and online industries including in finance and advisory, in carrier operations and with several successful start-ups. Stewart started his career working at the Chase Manhattan Bank Media & Telecom group in Hong Kong. In 1999, Stewart co-founded CommVerge Solutions, an $80 million systems integration business in Asia, followed by serving senior regional roles at MCI, Lucent and European e-commerce venture,
Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California, Riverside.
